Love the second shot! Did you underexpose the snap? The pattern looks great, but perhaps a more head-on shot (instead of the slightly oblique angle used) would've worked better. I like the detail on the first one, but it's a little too centrally composed, don't you think? Oh, and the second one is now my new desktop background. :)
Senthil: Thanks. Yes, the shot is underexposed. I usually underexpose shots, unless I want high contrast. The angle is oblique because the window grill is not parallel to the window mesh, but at an angle. Since it is a shallow DOF shot, it is better to let the grill be oblique than the mesh. The first one is centrally composed on purpose. Firstly, the off-center composition was not working out too well for this particular shot. Secondly, there was a very distracting background behind the fridge, so I had to crop it very tight, which means the shot had to be central. You can see some more of the shots on my Picasa web albums: http://picasaweb.google.com/sheiroo.
No, I'm NOT a real dog. I wish I were but I'm not. I am an engineer, a sportsman, a nice husband (at least I think so), a half-hearted artist, a photography enthusiast, a lover of cryptic crosswrods and coffee (COFFEE!!), and a late sleeper. That's it!

Oh, so now you have a river in your office? Cool!!
:D
GettingThereNow: Yeah, yeah! Gloat over the mistake.
Being unhealthily obsessed with all-things-retro as I am, I must say that the picture of the Philco refrigerator is magnificent.
And where do you work? i want a river in my office! To hell with rivers, I want a rain forest! Hmpf.
punkster: You too? I think that some old objects have a certain beauty which is very undescribable. This fridge definitely did.
And enough about the river in the office already, people!
